Abstract
Computer-assisted instruction (CAI) refers to the use of instructional material presented on a computer. Many educational computer programs are available online and from computer stores and textbook companies but limited courseware for Mathematics especially in Discrete Mathematics. This study (CAI) was developed as a supplementary instructional material for teaching and learning Discrete Mathematics specifically focusing on the selected topics such Matrices, Trees and Graphs. It was developed using Visual Basic that imports the lectures designed in SwishMax and the quizzes presented using Macromedia Flash. The study shows that CAI provides an interactive and more interesting graphical presentation of lectures and examinations with immediate results and a less time is required in researching, reviewing and studying lessons and also it is a best means to deliver lessons as a supplementary material to the traditional method of teaching.
