About
At the University of Batangas, the Research and Publications Office (RPO) was established to spearhead and administer research–related matters and enhance and accelerate the teaching competencies of faculty members through research. The RPO strongly believes that new information and innovative ideas can be generated when the mind is trained and practices scientific inquiry, and thus, it is the primary duty of the center to provide professional assistance to all emerging researchers.

The Research and Publications Office shall foster creativity, innovativeness and technology development in research to meet the challenges of national and international thrusts.
Mission
To lead the University in the creation of a globally responsive environment through publications, research, and linkages that will advance the frontiers of knowledge.
Objectives
The Research and Publications Office aims to:
1. respond to national and global initiatives through basic and applied researches
2. produce inward and outward-looking researches and other outputs for publications
3. develop mutually beneficial partnerships and linkages with local, national, and international establishments and institutions, academe, industry, government/ non-government agencies, the clergy, and the civil society
4. communicate with external counterparts regarding the different concerns and issues in the university
5. support other functions of the University, such as instruction, production, and extension services, 6. seek external support from both national and international agencies
Research Agenda
Thrust 1: Thriving Planet. Research projects will address sustainable resource management, food security, and environmental protection. This thrust focuses on SDGs 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water), and 15 (Life on Land).
Thrust 2: Inclusive Prosperity. Research projects will explore economic development strategies, infrastructure needs, and solutions for poverty reduction and income inequality. This thrust focuses on SDGs 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
Thrust 3: People’s Well-being. Research projects will address public health challenges, access to quality education, and promote gender equality. This thrust focuses on SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 5 (Gender Equality).
Thrust 4: Peaceful and Just Societies. Research projects will explore initiatives to strengthen governance, promote peace, and foster international collaborations for SDG implementation. This thrust focuses on SDGs 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Thrust 5: Sustainable Practices Across All Goals. This final thrust would integrate research across all SDGs, promoting a holistic approach considering the goals' interconnectedness. The research would focus on developing sustainable practices and monitoring progress toward achieving all 17 goals.
