Abstract
The study is entitled “Indaman: 2D Mobile Game”, a mobile game that hopes to spread the awareness and appreciation of Filipino folklore. It portrays a rewritten version of an adventure of Indarapatra, and his brother, Sulayman. Designed to run on the mobile phone platform, it seeks to showcase an experience similar to other games that run on different machines like computers, and consoles. The study aims to reach out to young adults, teachers, and students on game development as the researchers believe that the study will allow these individuals to understand the fundamentals of Game Design, and over-all creation of a mobile game. Within the pages of this document involves research on the fields of smartphones, game design, artificial intelligence, art conceptualization, and game development. The researchers took a standard approach in creating the game following the Game Development Process Model used by most developers. The process involves a step-by-step procedure of pre-production, production, and postproduction. The game is designed to run on Android devices that work with the OS version 5.0 Lollipop or later. This was created with the use of the game development engine Unity, and other media-related software like Adobe Photoshop, and Audacity. Concluding this study, the researchers were successful in their attempt to create an Android mobile game with the Game Development Process Model. The team suggests that future researchers implement the game to be playable on other platforms and devices, preferably with the use of the game development engine Unity. Furthermore, the team also recommends conducting a study on how the mobile game fairs and performs when showcased to the general public.
