Abstract
The Engineering Department of the University of Batangas uses the traditional cork and pin bulletin board where they post urgent and important announcements through the use of papers however, the researchers have observed that the students do not give much time stopping by just to read the announcements, therefore the researchers come up with the idea of proposing an SMS-Based Digital Bulletin Board. The designed project consists of an LCD, a Huawei E3131 (SMS DONGLE), and Intel's Compute Stick DC3217BY. The purpose of this project is to post the announcement on an LCD via SMS for the announcements that are needed to be disseminated to the officers of each organization and via drop box for those announcements in image format. The bulletin board sends the announcement received via SMS to the subscribed students with that, important announcement would be received by the concerned students just in time and the announcement would not be neglected. The researchers conducted several test to ensure the functionality of the project and has found out that the system is responding based on the expected output. The only reason for the delay of the sending of announcement to the system is caused by the network provider and the strength or speed of the internet connection where the system is connected.
