Abstract
This study focused on determining the learning competencies in Social Science of the College of Arts and Sciences‟ students which will serve as basis for strengthening interdisciplinary approach. This action research was done using the descriptive method. The results of the study show that students acquire competency in critical and analytical thinking, national consciousness, and leadership awareness. Likewise, students achieve competency in cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills of learning, competency in communication and interpersonal dealings with their family, peers, community and society as well. The findings suggest for a more comprehensive curriculum, with emphasis on allowing students to discuss their points of view. Furthermore, students must be given opportunity to express views regarding local and national issues which are vital in Social Science instruction. Interactive approach should be encouraged in a Social Science teaching and learning
