“BREAK ALERT” AS A DOOR BREAK ALARM SYSTEM: EVALUATION FROM BARANGAY PALLOCAN KANLURAN BATANGAS CITY RESIDENTS

Abstract
The study entitled “”Break Alert” as a Door Break Alarm System: Evaluation from Barangay Pallocan Kanluran Batangas Residents” was accomplished to measure the effectiveness of the product for revamping everyone’s home security to come up with a proposal that would address the problems identified during the study. The researchers wanted to pursue and develop a device that could warn people of an intrusion in their households. The researchers thought that maybe there would be a difference in the number of crime rates with this device in their possession. This research determined the features of a “Break Alert” as a Door Break Alarm System in terms of conceptual design, detailed design, and preliminary design. It also determined the acceptability of the “Break Alert” as a Door Break Alarm System in terms of accuracy, utility, and cost. Also, this research also discussed the benefits of the ”Break Alert” as a Door Break Alarm System. The researchers utilized the descriptive, experimental, and developmental research design. The respondents answered the questionnaire to determine the utility and benefits of the “Break Alert” as a Door Break Alarm System. Correspondingly, the researchers did experimentation to determine the product’s accuracy with 10 consecutive trials. Meanwhile, the respondents of the study were 30 random people who reside at Barangay Pallocan Kanluran. The statistical treatments used were the weighted mean, t-test, and ranking. At the end of the study, it was revealed that the components of the product were changed for optimal usage and compatibility. Also, the study found out that the “Break Alert” as a Door Break Alarm System is acceptable in terms of accuracy, utility, and cost. The benefits that can be derived from using the product can improve security and intruder awareness of the establishment and provide more safety to a household. With this, the researchers recommended that the current features and design of the product should be improved by the use of a louder alarm and a backup power supply. In addition, the product should be maintained monthly to prevent malfunctions and problems upon its usage. Moreover, further studies may be conducted to improve the quality of output produced by the researchers.
