Abstract
Leadership is an integral part in the academic formation of an individual. One way or another, one may not finish his/ her schooling without having a taste of leading and being led. In the current situation of the country where chaos and instability abound, good lead- ership is necessary to keep the nation going to its goal of development. No one can better, take on with this challenge other than the next generation—the youth, the students being formed and more importantly those who are already practicing it in their affiliation to organi- zations and the likes. This study is intended to explore the relationship of extraversion and self-preservation in the leadership of student leaders in managing their sub- ordinates. This study covered student leaders (N=91 Presidents and Vice Presidents) from recognized col- lege organizations of the University. The researchers utilized the quantitative method and qualitative data as support. Pearson-R was used to determine the result. The results show that in general, student leaders are extraverted and do not practice self-preservation. They are also effective in managing subordinates. The re- sults also show that there is a significant relationship between extraversion and leadership in managing sub- ordinates, while there is no significant relationship be- tween self-preservation and leadership in managing subordinates. Meanwhile there is no significant relation- ship between extraversion in managing subordinates and self-preservation in managing subordinates
