Abstract
Batangas City is considered as the center of learning not only in the province but also in the whole Region IV. All levels of education are available in various learning institutions in the City (Batangas City Tripod, n.d.). Batangas City has experienced great development in education. At present, there are seventeen public schools and nineteen private schools in Batangas City Division. Batangas City has made important strides in class size reduction, higher academic standards, greater accountability, and improved teacher preparation. The important missing link in these initiatives to improve student learning is the need for more school counselors and effective guidance and counseling services.
