Abstract
The study entitled “Risk Management Employed by Select Online Sellers in Batangas City in Establishing their Business on Social Media Platforms,” aimed to identify the risk management being employed by online sellers and assess its effectiveness in terms of business operation, business safety and business survival. This study is also conducted to know the common risks being encountered by sellers in the online market and how risk management answers to these said risks. The researchers employed descriptive design of research to fully evaluate the risk management method being implemented by the sellers. It emphasized the use of survey-questionnaires to collect the necessary data that will answer the problems at hand. There were a total of 50 respondents that were chosen through the simple random sampling. The study also employed frequency and percentage, ranking, weighted mean and ANOVA test as statistical tools for the in-depth analysis of the gathered data. After the distribution of survey-questionnaire through Google Forms, the study revealed that Competition is the most common risk being encountered by the sellers. Moreover, it also proven that the risk management methods being applied are highly relevant and are applicable for the business setting. Most importantly, the risk management methods are deemed effective in terms of business operations, business safety and business survival. With these findings, the researchers came up with a risk management plan that aims to mitigate the risks in online business. Meanwhile, the study can also be used as a reference for future researchers for further improvement of the risk management methods being applied by online sellers.
