Abstract
This study entitled “Effects of Mass Media to the Political Views of Grade 12 Students of the University of Batangas” aimed to understand and measure the effects of mass media to the political views of Grade 12 students. It was developed to explore and address questions regarding the perspectives of students and how they cope with the current political issues in the Philippines. It also intended to study the vital role of mass media to the students and how it affects their political views. The researchers used quantitative research as a research design and questionnaire for the data gathering instrument. Through the stratified random sampling, the researchers arrived at two hundred seventy-five (275) grade 12 students at University of Batangas as their respondents. Ranking, frequency, percentage, weighted mean, composite mean, and Pearson’s r were the statistical tools applied to analyze the gathered data in order to make a clear interpretation. As a result, the researchers found that there is no significant relationship between the role of mass media and its effects on the political views of students. Based on the findings and conclusion, the researchers proposed an action plan that will strengthen the use of mass media that affects the political views of the grade 12 students of University of Batangas..
