Abstract
The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of CinnaNeyMon Candy as an Alternative Remedy for Halitosis due to Bad Oral Habit. Furthermore, the researchers aimed to know the significant relationship between the acceptability of cinnamon, honey, and lemon as main ingredients of a candy in treating halitosis. They also proposed an action plan stating the benefits of the CinnaNeyMon Candy. Experimental research was used as a research design to properly conduct the study and to fully acquire the necessary information. There were 30 selected respondents composed of 25 people with halitosis and 5 dentists from the vicinity of Batangas Province. The research method used in the present study is in the form of observation that tackles the objective answers provided by the respondents. The statistical treatment used was Pearson’s r and t-test for significance. The gathered data were tabulated based on their corresponding categories as an answer to the survey questions. The researchers were able to find out that the cinnamon, honey, and lemon can kill all those bacteria in the mouth which are responsible for causing foul smell, thereby helping the user to get rid of bad odor effectively. When it comes to the physical and aesthetic appearance, most of the respondents perceived that the CinnaNeyMon candy has the most notable hard and brittle consistency. Majority of the respondents stated that the product does not cause tooth staining. As for the benefits of consuming CinnaNeyMon candy, the most notable among the respondents is the product’s affordability and its capacity to be recommended in the market. Based on the results, the researchers determined that the length of effectivity of the candy lasts for 31- 45 minutes. The researchers rejected the null hypothesis because t- value is greater than the critical value therefore they determined that there is a significant relationship between the acceptability of cinnamon, honey, and lemon as main ingredients of a candy in treating halitosis due to bad oral habit.
