Abstract
Jealousy is a not a simple concept but a combination of emotions and reactions. It is rated among one of the most frequently experienced problems in close relationship. This study assessed the manifestations of jealousy in close relationship among emerging adults and married individuals in Batangas City. The study aimed to measure the level of jealousy of respondents based on its dimensions (experienced and expressed), the significant difference in jealousy between the gender, and the significant relationship between jealousy and longevity of the relationship. Quantitative data analysis, T-Test and Pearson R were used to determine the level and relationship between the given variables. Also, qualitative data was used to support the result of the study. Respondents were purposively selected, aged 18-40 which fall in between Erikson’s Social Development Theory. Findings revealed that the respondents had experienced and expressed normal jealousy and that there is no significant difference between the jealousy of male and female. The results also showed that there is no significant relationship between jealousy and longevity of the relationship.
