Abstract
Well-written literature provides excellent models for illustrating grammar and rhetoric as empowering tools for writers and students. This is more especially true in the Senior High School where students already have the capacity to engage in longer materials like novels. To demonstrate how this may be possible, this paper explores Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird through content analysis based on stylistic and relevance theory. The analysis maps out Lee’s stylistics, the themes and meanings they evoke, and ultimately, the grammatical and rhetorical models it provides that may be employed in senior high school English classrooms.
