Abstract
The Language Arts governs the English learning areas in Senior High School such as Oral Communication in Context, Reading and Writing Skills, and English for Academic and Professional Purposes. It was recorded of recurring least mastered learning competencies since the first implementation of the K12 curriculum in 2016. Using the descriptive method, the researcher studied the extent of utilization of teaching approaches; technology integration in teaching approaches; and issues and challenges in technology integration which served as inputs. The whole population of the 104 Language Arts teacher-respondents among the 16 schools was used. Quantitative data were analyzed, and selected Language Arts teachers were interviewed. The use of documentary analysis and observation of the learning competencies, teaching approaches, and issues and challenges in technology integration in SHS Language Arts are vital sources of data. Results showed that technology integration in teaching approaches’ strategies plays a big role in language classes; for the respondents’ answers in the interview that it can be used as a tool to facilitate teaching and learning parallel to the result of the study that supports the effect of superiority of technologybased lessons as compared to traditional lessons. English teachers should consider their students' needs and interests, subsidized on the equipment and training because the questionnaire results indicate that the majority of the students show their positive perceptions towards integrating technology in English classes. Results would lead to the creation of proposed teaching strategies for Language Arts’ subjects in Senior High School.
