Abstract
This research entitled “Coping Mechanism of Selected Travel Agencies in this Time of Pandemic” was accomplished to tackle the in-depth investigation of the strategies that make travel agencies ongoing in this time of the pandemic and how these coping mechanisms and adapting strategies boosted in terms of number of travel inquiries, sales and overall income. This study specifically aimed to identify the strategies and coping mechanisms of different travel agencies to survive the impact of the global health crisis. Moreover, it tried to discover if there was a significant difference between the effect of coping mechanisms and adapting strategies employed by travel agencies in this time of pandemic in terms of number of travel inquiries, sales and overall income. This study employed the use of the correlational design to identify the degree of correlation between the three variables. Simple random sampling was used to select the 30 individuals who are travel agents as respondents of this study. The researchers utilized the use of online survey- questionnaires to collect the data that are significant to finish the study. To interpret the data collected, ranking, weighted mean, composite mean and anova were the statistical tools used. The researchers concluded that planning thoroughly before implementation is the common strategy used by travel agencies as a coping mechanism in times of pandemic. Also in this time of pandemic, the number of travel inquiries, sales and overall income of travel agencies are greatly affected. There is a significant difference between the effect of coping mechanisms and adapting strategies employed by travel agencies in this time of pandemic in terms of number of travel inquiries, sales and overall income. In the end, the researchers came up with a proposed action plan which includes webinar, infographics, blog posts and online videos to help travel agencies to rise again.
