Abstract
The main objective of the study was to propose activities in teaching literature through analyzing fourth wave feminism in George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones. To achieve this, the researcher used formalistic approach, feministic approach, sociological approach, and content analysis in the interpretation of different lines and quotations from the novel. Using the sociological approach, the researcher found out that the female characters in the novel struggled with some issues directed only at women, which caused gender inequality to be prominent in the story. As the researcher traced, some of these issues were brought to the fore by the literary elements in the novel such as the characters, setting, and plot, and this was analyzed through content analysis and formalistic approach. Meanwhile, feministic approach was used in delving into the themes which symbolize fourth wave feminism in the novel, and the researcher also found out that several literary devices were also used by the author to highlight fourth wave feminism in the over-all story. Through rigorous analysis and interpretation of different lines coming from the novel, the researcher was able to propose learning activities in teaching literature in order to imbibe the concepts of the fourth wave feminism and gender and development to students in the present time.
