Abstract
The study entitled “Impact of Having Pets on the Mental Health of the Residents Living in Batangas City During the Covid-19 Pandemic” was conducted in order to understand the impact of pets on human mental health and well-being, particularly during periods of prolonged social isolation and whether animals may be included in mental health and well-being preventive, recovery, and therapeutic programs. The study aims to discover how pets affect the mental health and well-being of citizens living in Batangas City during the COVID-19 pandemic and to look into the amount, type, and quality of evidence surrounding the role and benefit of pet ownership for people with mental illnesses. The researchers used a Quantitative descriptive research design in order to meet their desired goal. In order to ensure that the proposed study would be correctly reviewed by strand experts and future users of the study, 100 participants were chosen by simple random sampling. After gathering, organizing, evaluating, and interpreting the data, the researchers discovered a significant difference between the mental health, physical health, and social behavior of pet owners. Pets have a lot to offer in terms of a person's well-being; they are ideal for anyone looking for a friend, especially during this pandemic. The findings of the investigation, together with the researchers' individual insight, interpretation, and some articles, and to other researchers who created that were comparable to their study, have laid the groundwork for the conclusion to be made at the end of the study.
