Abstract |
This research entitled “Guhit Pinas: Cue Your Art to Cure” was conducted by the researchers to examine and understand the impact of Social Media on Art Therapy in Students. The primary objectives were to assess the approaches of Guhit Pinas in effectively promoting mental health awareness through art therapy in terms of self-expression and behavioral pattern, to evaluate the challenges encountered by the students in Guhit Pinas and if there is a significant relationship between the effective use of art therapy and social media in raising mental health awareness. At the same time, its main purpose was to provide a platform for students to express themselves and develop a healthy coping mechanism in the face of the pandemic. On the other hand, the researchers used the descriptive research design to know the evaluation through students’ experiences and challenges encountered towards the use of art therapy from the selected forty (40) respondents of UB - SHS Department. Through the gathered data from the respondents, the researchers were able to systematize and conclude by the use of online questionnaires and statistical tools such as frequency, weighted mean, ranking, and Pearson's r. Moreover, the results signified as there is a relationship between the effective use of art therapy and social media in raising mental health awareness which rejects the null hypothesis. Nevertheless, the findings determined that Online Art Therapy had a substantial impact on student performance in terms of creative thinking skills and productivity. Furthermore, the following results were presented through a Facebook Page and website as their output of the study. |
