Abstract
Recently, online learning or distance education environments have been developed to support learning processes in various domains and various levels of knowledge or proficiency. This study was conducted with its objectives of determining if there is a significant relationship between academic self-efficacy and online learning environment. It used descriptive method which utilized questionnaire as a data gathering procedure. This involved a total of eighty-four respondents from which were conveniently and purposively selected from the students of College of Nursing and Midwifery and who are also using online learning, enrolled in certain courses in UBian LMS and recipient of the new curriculum. From the critical examination of facts and data making up this study the following results were obtained: a weighted mean of 3.59 which means that majority of the respondents strongly agreed that online learning knowledge and experience has a great influence in academic self-efficacy in online learning. Among all the given effects the respondents answered that their physiological and emotional states are greatly affected in the development of academic self-efficacy in an online learning environment. This gives a mean of 3.41. Thus, researchers concluded that there exists a positive significant correlation between academic self-efficacy and online learning. An action plan which aims to raise awareness among students about their self-efficacy in online learning was crafted by the researchers.
