Abstract
The study tracked the nursing graduates of University of Batangas AY 2011-2012 to 2016-2017 in terms of their career and employment status. The total number of respondents was 319. It also included the number of graduates who were employed, underemployed, unemployed, board passers and non-board passers. The study covered the nursing graduates for the past six years. The study included profile of nursing graduates, such as the civil status, gender, year graduated, educational attainment, professional attainment passed, advance trainings/studies, the employability status of the nursing graduates including length to land the first job, area of specialization, reasons not yet employed, present employment status, present occupation, place of work, reasons for accepting the job, reasons for staying the job. It also included gross monthly income, competency learned in college, seminars attended after college, accomplishments and suggestion to improve course curriculum. The researchers gathered all the needed data from January 2018 to November 2018. The students went to different hospitals in Batangas province. The problems that were encountered by the researchers were the availability of the respondents, the division of time because of respondents’ schedule in work and their personal priorities. The researchers also encountered problem in conducting survey in hospitals’ Chief Nurse or Human Resource Coordinator and Medical Director, because they were busy in their own hospital responsibilities and some hospitals may not cooperate with the researcher because of a busy schedule. The other problem of the researchers was also the location of the respondents, because some of the respondents are working abroad, that is why the researchers connect to them through internet and e-mail
