Abstract
This research paper assessed the public perception on the impact of police visibility to crime prevention in Barangay 24, Batangas City. The respondents were 350 residents from Barangay 24, Batangas City. A 23-item self-constructed questionnaire was reproduced and distributed as research instrument. The data gathered were analyzed using frequency count and weighted mean. Results show that the effectiveness of police visibility to crime prevention and public safety has a positive effect in the community in their daily living. The community is convinced that the presence of police personnel can diminish crime. The best way to deter crime is to have direct observation and immediate response in crime hotspots areas. Increase the number of time they roam around the area of living to reduce and lessen residents’ fear of crime. The researchers gave few recommendations that may help further enhance the police visibility and to be more effective in maintaining peace and order, reducing of crime and assuring people’s safety.
