Abstract
This research paper determined the perceived impact of community quarantine during the pandemic to the prevention of crime in barangay Sta. Rita Karsada, Batangas City. The respondents were 378 residents from Barangay Sta. Rita, Batangas City. A 21-item self-constructed questionnaire were reproduced and distributed to the respondents. The data gathered were analyzed using frequency count and weighted mean. Results show that aside from mobile patrol, different types of patrol like foot and bicycle are being utilized to surprise violators of community quarantine and to deter the residents from committing crimes. In terms of liquor ban, traffic accidents are prevented or minimized since drivers are always sober. The most agreed effect in terms of prohibition of social gatherings and curfew hours is it that helps to prevent group chaos, conflicts or disorders. The most important possible action to further prevent crimes is the long-term implementation of curfew hours and continuation of community quarantine-brought prohibitions that fit the new normal.
