The Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) is a national government human development initiative that provides conditional cash grants to the qualified less privilege sector to improve their health, nutrition, and education. This study focuses on the implications of 4Ps Law in the academic wellness of 129 student-beneficiaries from San Pascual Senior High School 1 and 2 in Batangas, who were chosen using Raosoft software and selective sampling. The researchers also used the mixed methods specifically the correlational research wherein they utilized self-made questionnaire to obtain the demographic profile of the respondents and its benefits in improving the student’s academic performance, study skills, self-regulation and motivation. Interviews to selected teachers and MSWDO key persons chosen by convenience sampling and analysis of the 4Ps law were also applied to understand their perceptions on the law's implementation to build a foundation for further recommendations. Based on the results, the household heads were mostly 43-49 years old, housewives or housekeepers, high school graduates, with 4-6 households, and earning Php 3,001 - Php 5,000 monthly. The respondents agreed that 4Ps improve their academic wellness in terms of their academic achievement, study skills, self-regulation, and motivation. In addition, the household head’s occupation, highest educational attainment, the family monthly income, and the household size affects the perception of the students in the benefit of 4Ps to their academic wellness. Subsequently, the researchers recommended an Ordinance Establishing A Municipal Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program Federation in Education for the Municipality of San Pascual, Batangas. It seeks to discover other educational difficulties that inhibit program implementation for corrective action and strengthen its effectiveness in achieving universal primary education. The researchers also suggested that the government should provide additional educational resources, expand the numbers of qualified beneficiaries, and consider extending their age limit until tertiary education. |
