Abstract
This study sought to determine the relationship between the difficulties encountered by the respondents in using online mental health chatbots and the effects of utilizing online mental health chatbots on the emotional well-being of the respondents in terms of resolving interpersonal conflicts, stress management, and fostering a healthy mindset. The present study is a descriptive quantitative investigation. Researchers distributed survey questionnaires to 100 senior high school students at the University of Batangas - Batangas City Campus. The sample size was determined using a method of stratified random sampling. To test the null hypothesis of the study which states that there is no significant relationship between the difficulties encountered by the respondents in using online mental health chatbots and the effects of utilizing online mental health chatbots on the emotional well-being of the respondents, various statistical methods were used including frequency, ranking, percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson’s R. The study examined perceptions of online mental health chatbots, finding that users appreciated the ability to navigate conversation history and gain helpful insights for daily life. However, they felt responses were often too generic, lacking human-like interaction. While users felt chatbots offered good advice for resolving interpersonal conflicts, stress management, and fostering a healthy mindset, there was no significant correlation between perceptions and actual emotional well-being outcomes. To aid users in choosing suitable chatbots, a website called "AMYGA: Ultimate Guide on Mental Health Chatbots" will be developed, offering assessments and video overviews of popular options. Researchers will ensure the site's quality before launch.
