Abstract
Voting behavior plays a significant role in elections as the electorates have the power to determine who sits in the government. This research entitled “Navigation of Voting Behavior: Basis for Responsible Electorates in Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City” focuses on the navigation of the voting behavior to serve as a basis for responsible electorates. Past studies have tackled the factors affecting voting decisions. However, this study mainly focused on the factors and challenges faced by voters in Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City. The researchers used a descriptive research design in doing the study and a survey questionnaire to acquire data from the respondents. The respondents consisted of 363 registered voters from Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City. Statistical tools such as weighted mean, ranking, and Pearson's R were used in order to test the null hypothesis. Findings from this study shows that there are several challenges that the voters faced during the election such as the rampant cases of people exchanging votes for financial aid and benefits, and existing political dynasties. Furthermore, it was also found that the voters considered many factors and are more likely to select a candidate based on their record. Lastly, the researchers made an infomercial to be the action plan that will navigate the voting behavior to help them become a responsible electorate through watching and learning from the infomercial.
