Abstract
The partnership project of JG Summit Petrochemical Corporation (JGSPC), Archdiocesan Ministry on Environment (AMEn) and Batangas Community Divers Seal Inc. (BCDSI) aims to address the pressing concerns on biodiversity conservation and will ensure to achieve sustainable development. The project focuses on the establishing Artificial Reef Sanctuary at Barangay Simlong, Batangas City, beneficial not only to the said barangay but for most of the coastal barangays of the City. Another highlight of the said project will focus on establishing a tree nursery and vegetable garden to provide forest tree seedlings, fruit bearing trees to a wider range of stakeholders in the Province of Batangas and a vegetable for the nearby barangay consumption. Massive Information Education and Communication will form part of the project not only to suffice the condition stated on the Environmental Compliance Certificate of the company but more than compliance activity to educate different stakeholders of the effort the company is pushing to achieve sustainable development.
