Abstract
This study aimed to produce an effective alternative charcoal out of dried cow manure with oregano leaves. It tackled about the proportion, the advantages and disadvantages of using dried cow manure with oregano leaves as an alternative charcoal. It also gave the environmental implications of the produced charcoal. It was limited only to dried manure of cows and not the manure of other farm animals like those of pigs, carabaos, chickens and other farm animals. On the other hand, the researchers used oregano leaves and no other supplementary plant to support the study. This study proposed to discriminate information to the farmers so that they would be able to know the other uses of cow manure not only as fertilizer but also as a replacement for the commercialized charcoal. Experimental method of research was utilized in the study. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference between the alternative and commercialized charcoal and that charcoal from dried cow manure with oregano leaves was relatively effective. The product was eco-friendly because it was used in biogas plants and it reduced our environmental problems.
