Abstract
Education contributes significantly in developing the well-being of the people, and is therefore a valuable tool in poverty alleviation. Consequently, enhancing the quality of the basic education is an urgent and necessary task of the Philippine government. In 2010, the Department of Education (DepEd) has put forward its agenda to boost the condition of the education sector in the country through the “Enhanced Kindergarten to 12 (K to 12) Basic Education Program.” The next three to five years are, therefore, crucial times for the higher education sector. This study forms and presents definitive tools and strategies which can be developed and operated by higher education institutions to become relevant, responsive, and sustainable taking into account the current reforms in the education sector
